My condolences go to the Collins Family at this time! I had the honor and privilege of knowing Mr. T. R. Collins while being a student at Stillman College. My sister Ms. Loletha Washington had the honor of being his work study student while at Stillman. Mr. Collins was always a Strong, Strict and Wise man whom looked out for our best interest in school and beyond. Mr. Collins will be truly missed.

Mr. Collins was the business manager during my entire tenure at Rust College. This has become an emotionally heavy time for me. Mr. Collins was the last of the major administrative officers who ran the college while I was a student. Not only was he the Business Manager, we were initiated into Omega Psi Phi at the same time and became charter members of Psi Rho Chapter. I will hold close the fun memories that we all shared during that time, 1962-1966.

I first met Mr. Collins in the summer of 1961, when I came to Rust to work during the summer. He was a very kind and considerate man, and he also had a sense of humor. We were working to pay for our schooling in the fall of that year; and yet, at the end of each week, in fact on Friday, each of us received $4.00. He was always willing to extend a helping hand to a needy student. Moreover, he was a very fine business manager. When I returned to Rust as librarian in the fall of 1963, he made every effort to assist me in purchasing the materials that I needed for the library. He lived a productive life, and he is resting in peace.
